Magical Monterey Wines
Monterey vineyards and wines have long held an important place in the history of American winemaking. From 1775, the Franciscan missionaries made wine locally. Not far from Carmel, in San Juan Bautista, the very first vineyards and subsequent winery were manifested in the mid 1700’s. California now produces 90% of all American wine. Within that category, Monterey is at the top, with over 50 different varietals.
Due to the truly extraordinary micro-climates, soils and topographies, we are honored to make some of the most expressive wines possible. As you venture with us on your Wine and Wandering tour, we will demonstrate exactly how the ocean and land collisions create such different wines that we know, appreciate and love.
